Came in by suprise
This morning, one of our neighbors almost got hit by a giant construction truck hauling an excavator down our street. When he asked what they were doing, the crew just said "No hablo inglés" and kept working like nothing was wrong.
The neighbor across the street from the property – who's lived here since the 1960s – took this picture because she knew something was up. She remembered a "meeting" the City promised back in October 2023. The one they canceled and never rescheduled. She's been calling them for over a year, getting nothing but the runaround.
Here's the crazy part – NOBODY on our street got any notice about this construction. Not a letter, not a sign, nothing. So we did the following:
• Went door-to-door to warn our neighbors
• Spent nights digging through city records (and found some shady stuff)
• Watched helplessly as they destroyed the whole woods in less than a week
And get this – they didn't even put up safety signs while running heavy machinery down a street where kids play every day. That forest was our neighborhood's natural flood protection too.
The City thinks they can ignore us, but we're not backing down. We've got the receipts now, and we're going to make sure everyone knows how they've failed our community.
