Why didn’t they let us know?
For four straight days now, these crews have been tearing through our woods – and they still refuse to talk to us. No safety signs. No explanations. They won’t even admit they’re working for the City. What exactly are they hiding?
Every morning, we wake up to the sound of trees crashing down. Every night, we listen to the confused chirps of displaced birds – our winged neighbors, evicted by bulldozers. The nests are gone. The forest is vanishing. And still – no answers.
We did our homework:
✔️ Confirmed the City owns this land
✔️ Found it should be listed under Little Rock Land Bank… but mysteriously isn’t
✔️ Checked our Ward Director’s social media – she’s posting about other projects, but not this one
So we’re left asking:
Why wasn’t our neighborhood warned?
What are they actually building?
Why does this feel deliberately secretive?
The only thing growing faster than our anger? That pile of dead trees. (Though thankfully, they did at least spin the porta-potty around so our elderly neighbor doesn’t have to watch workers exit it anymore. Small mercies.)
Let’s be clear: This wouldn’t fly in Chenal. It shouldn’t fly here. We’re not stopping until we get real answers.
